Army Construction LLC was engaged by the New York City School Construction Authority to execute a full roof and parapet replacement program at P.S. 705 in Brooklyn. The goal was to restore the building's weatherproof envelope, address structural deficiencies caused by long-term moisture intrusion, and extend the facility's service life while the school remained fully operational. The project demanded careful coordination with school administration, engineers, and the SCA project team to ensure safe access, noise control, and continuous occupancy throughout construction. Scope of Work

The scope of work included a comprehensive restoration of the roof and parapet assemblies, along with associated repairs to masonry, sealants, and drainage systems:

Complete removal of existing roof assemblies down to deck level.
Installation of new **SBS modified bitumen roofing system** with high-performance insulation and cold-applied adhesives.
**Reconstruction of all parapet walls**, including new reinforced backup masonry and coping stones.
Replacement of roof drains, pitch pockets, and all associated **sheet-metal flashings**.
