Curtis High School Staten Island – Roofs

Army Construction LLC was engaged by the New York City School Construction Authority to perform a comprehensive building envelope and infrastructure restoration at Curtis High School, one of Staten Islands landmark educational facilities. The project encompassed multiple buildings on campusincluding the Main Building (1902), Auditorium/Library (1926), Gymnasium (1956), Natatorium (1936), Classroom Building (1923), and Cafeteria (1964)requiring detailed coordination across various roofing systems, masonry faades, and mechanical components. The work was carefully phased to maintain full school operations during construction, ensuring safety and minimal disruption to the learning environment. This multi-roof, multi-building project addressed structural deterioration, water infiltration, and outdated materials through a full system upgrade of roofing, parapets, and window assemblies.
